Black History Month Celebration

MHS Black Studies Club Black History Month Celebration. thumbnail255361
In the spirit of tradition and pride, the Malverne High School Black Studies Club presented their annual Black History Month Celebration at MPAC on Feb. 15.

This student-run event was filled with inspirational songs, step-dancing, music and poetry that spread joy and inspired us think about past struggles, future challenges and reinforced our belief that with the support of our community anything is possible.

One of many highlights was the keynote speech by Fayola L. Charlet, Esq., who currently serves as Nassau County Senior Assistant District Attorney and leads the Office of Community Affairs. Ms. Charlet reminded us that we are on a journey and while we may encounter detours, we must never lose sight of our purpose, humility and determination.

Thank you to everyone who attended this extraordinary event and shared with us the messages, motivation and inspiration that was brought to life by our amazing students.

Congratulations to the students of the Black Studies Club, faculty and everyone who contributed their time, talent and voices to make this night one of the most memorable of the year and extolling the true meaning of #ExcellenceOnPurpose.
