The Malverne Union Free School District is committed to providing a school environment that enhances learning and the development of the children's health, well-being, and the ability to learn by supporting healthy eating and physical activity. The purpose of the Wellness Policy is to promote student health and reduce childhood obesity.
The Malverne School District has established a Wellness Committee comprised of parents, teachers, administrators, and board members. Currently the Wellness Committee is overseen by the Malverne School's Business Administrator, Thomas P. McDaid, Jr., Esq.
The Wellness Committee develops the District Wellness Policy, assists the district with implementation, assesses if it is being followed and how well it is working to achieve its purpose, and updates the policy as needed.
You are able to review the District Wellness Policy by using the link to the right labled "Wellness Policy".
Please note the updated District Wellness Policy was adopted at the February 14, 2012 Board of Education meeting.
If anyone has any questions, comments, or ideas for the wellness policy please do not hesitate to contact Mr. McDaid by phone at 887-6417 or by e- mail firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you.
