Girls Varsity Volleyball Senior Day!
The Malverne Senior High School athletic department hosted its senior day for the Girls Varsity Volleyball team. We would like to recognize Kareena Sukhnanan, Dahiannara Rijo Pache and Khaliya Shaw for all their hard work and dedication to the volleyball program over the past four years.

The Malverne Senior High School held its Senior Day for the Boys Varsity Soccer team. Coach Lores Retires From Soccer Program
After 24 years of dedicated service to the girls’ soccer program, Coach Joe Lores coached his final game at Malverne Senior High School. Coach Lores will be greatly missed and we want to wish him best of luck in his retirement.
Varsity Football and Cheerleading Senior Day!
Malverne Senior High School held its Senior Day for the Varsity Football and Varsity Cheerleading teams. We wanted to recognize Trinity Anthony, Alexie Dacosta, Deandre Blagrove, Darren Bowes, Christian Durisile, Jeffrey Enwere, Jaden Manzanillo, Justin Murphy, Rajindra Ramnauth, Chyance Randall, Tyler Rouse, Emanuel Sandoval, and Ryan Thompson for all their hard work and dedication to the football and cheerleading programs.
Track and Field Earn High Honors at Counties
Congratulations to the high school spring track and field team, as many athletes earned high honors during the spring Nassau County championships. The girls 4x100 meter relay team of Jordyn Fevrier-Babb, Mikayla Johnson, Lola Olaniyan and Karen Sanon won the Nassau County championship. The boys 4x100 meter relay team of Deandre Blagrove, Sylvain Castin, Branden McLaughlin and Chyance Randell received All-County honors. In addition, Lola Olaniyan received All-County honors in the 200-meter race.
Baseball Team Wins Conference Championship
The district is proud to congratulate the varsity baseball team, as they are the reigning 2021 Conference Champions. Coach Dunn and Coach Susi lead the team to an 12-4 record on their way to winning the conference title.

Boys Varsity Soccer Team Qualifies for Nassau County Class B Playoffs
Congratulations to the Boys Varsity soccer team are qualifying for the Nassau County Class B playoffs. The mules defeated Cold Spring Harbor High School 3-1 to advance to the Nassau County Semi-Finals against Carle Place High School on Wednesday, April 21st.
One Team One Goal.
Undefeated Season for the JV Football Team
The JV Football team completed an undefeated 6-0 season by defeating Oyster Bay High School 38-0 on Monday, April 19th. Congratulations to all the student athletes and coaches for an unbelievable season in which the defense posted five shutouts and only gave up eight points in six game.

Athlete Named All-Long Island in Newsday
Congratulations to senior Michael Warren Jr. for being named Newsday’s
All-Long Island Boys Basketball Team. Michael averaged 28.8 points, 5.4
rebounds and 6.4 assists a game. He had 38 points and seven assists
against a strong Center Moriches squad and was a key piece of two Nassau
championship teams over five seasons.
Girls Volleyball Seniors Celebrated
The Senior High School varsity Girls Volleyball team paid tribute to
their seniors, as they played their final match on April 10. Thank you
to Kaylah Louis, Gianna McKeever, Nalyhannah Metellus, Samantha St.
Juste and Dana Vilardi for all your hard work and dedication to the

Student Athlete Clinches 1,000 Points
The district’s athletic department is proud to announce that boys basketball varsity senior Michael Warren Jr. scored his 1,000 point of his career against Carle Place High School.
Michael became the ninth student athlete to accomplish this milestone in school history for the boys basketball program. The district congratulations Michael, his family, teammates and coaches on achieving this milestone.
Girls Basketball Kicks Off Season
The Malverne Senior High School’s girls basketball team hosted the first game of the season on Feb. 11 against Cold Spring Harbor High School. We wish them the best of luck this season.
Boys Bowling Team Reigns as Conference Champions
The district is proud to congratulate the Malverne Senior High School boys varsity bowling team and Coach Biscardi on conquering the 2021 Nassau Conference VIII championship title.
Bowling teams were permitted to start their seasons on Jan. 4, as they are considered low/moderate-risk sports. The district is very proud of the team’s outstanding efforts to persevere during this unprecedented time.
Sports Kick Off This Week
Sports began this week at the high school and middle school. The high school is running bowling and winter track, and kicked off girls basketball, boys basketball and cheerleading. Girls basketball started this week at the middle school.
All home games for boys and girls basketball will be livestreamed at the high school, and bowling will be played at RVC Lanes. Track has one virtual meet and one live meet. All live meets are away.
We want to again emphasize that the health and safety of our students, staff, parents and community is always our utmost concern.
Outstanding Students in Physical Education
The district is proud to announce that Malverne Senior High School students Dana Vilardi and Ferrick Robertson were recipients of the Outstanding Physical Education Awards from Nassau Zone of The New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.
Nassau Zone selects one male and one female who demonstrate New York State learning standards for health and physical education. These NYS standards include living a physically active lifestyle, high level of fitness during testing, and exceptional achievement within physical education class. These two students have also shown tremendous leadership, sportsmanship, character and lifelong learning during the past four years at Malverne Senior High School.
The district commemorates both students on this amazing achievement.
Special Teams Player of the Year award
Malverne Football program dedicates the Special Teams Player of the Year award to Coach Charlie Nanton for his many years of outstanding service and dedication to the Malverne community. This award will be given out annually at the Malverne Football dinner.
First Annual Tim Murray Lacrosse Clinic at Malverne High School on Saturday, November 14th
Andre Hawkins was selected into the 2020 class for the Nassau County Athletics Hall of Fame. Andre Hawkins was 1,000 point scorer and lead Malverne to two Nassau County, Long Island and NYS championships. 1981 won the NYS Federation championship as well. Andre went on to play four years at the University of Syracuse as a four year starter. Andre played in the Big East at the same time as legendary big men Patrick Ewing (Georgetown), Bill Whittington (St. John's) and Eddie Pinckney (Villanova).
1979 – Nassau County, Long Island and New York State Champions.
1981 - Nassau County, Long Island, New York State and NYS Federation Champions. Andre was named the MVP of the NYSPHSAA Boys Class B Tournament. NYSSWA Player of the year.

Honoring Our Seniors
The Mules defeated East Rockaway HS on Senior Night as Moncia Cordova, Tyela Davidson, Timani Jones, Destiny Mitchell and Tamaira Smalls played their final home game of their career at Malverne High School. Thank you to all these wonderful seniors for all their hard work and dedication over the past four years. Come out and support the Girls Basketball Program in the Playoffs as they start on February 16th.
The Mules defeated Portledge High School in the Gary Charles Classic at
Adelphi University recently with a score of 79-76. Michael Warren Jr.
was named game MVP with 25 points and 7 assists. Deandre Blagrove had a
13 points and 14 rebounds. Jayden Seraphin 16 points and Duane Bernard
Jr. chipped in with 10 points.
Nassau County Boys Soccer Coaches Association honored David Atiencia as
an All-County Athlete and Ronaldo Atiencia, Nelson Viscaino and James
Habert as All-Conference. Congratulations to all of them!
Congratulations to soccer players Samantha Clare who was named All-Class and Hunter Vertuccio who was named All-Conference and Goalie of the Year. They received their awards at the Nassau County Coaches Association dinner this week.

Championship. Coach Nadeem was honored as Coach of the Year, Nicolette
Conserve as All-County, Dana Vilardi as All-County Honorable Mention,
Alanna Jacelon as All Conference and Tiffany Prewitt as All-Tournament.
All-Star Players
Congratulations to Louis Ridley and Rashad Teachey for participating in
the annual Nassau County Coaches Association All-Star Football Game on
Thanksgiving morning. Louis Ridley had a 99-yard kickoff return for a
touchdown and was named the Offensive MVP of the game.
Fall Athletic Awards

Conference Champs
In the Girls Varsity Volleyball Playoff Game against Seaford High School
on Thursday, November 7, the Mules fell to the Vikings 3-0 but finished
the season 14-3 with a conference championship.
Making Playoffs
Varsity Football finished the season 4-4 and made the Nassau County
Playoffs for the sixth consecutive year. Come support the Mules on
Saturday night at Cold Spring Harbor High School. Kickoff between the
Mules and Seahawks is 6pm and let’s fill the stands in orange and blue.
Conference Champs
Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Volleyball Team on winning the 2019 Conference Championship. The Mules finished with a 14-2 record and have qualified for the Nassau County Volleyball Playoffs. The Semifinals will be Thursday, Nov. 7 at Manhasset High School at 5pm. Malverne received the fourth seed and will be taking on the top seed Seaford Vikings.
Senior Volleyball Players
The Girls Volleyball Program recently held its 2019 Senior Night. The Mules had ten seniors who played the final home match of their career at Malverne High School. These young athletes will be greatly missed and we would like the wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors. Hank Williams and Wandy Williams were both inducted into the Dr. James
Tolle Nassau County Athletics Hall of Fame last night at the Crest
Hallow County Club.
Hank Williams led the Malverne Boys basketball program to 450 victories,
20 conference titles, nine Nassau county titles, four Long Island
championships and two New York State Championships. He was a teacher,
coach and Athletic Director at Malverne School District for over 30
years.
Wandy Williams excelled in football, basketball and track and field as
an athlete for Malverne High School. Wandy averaged an astounding 8.9
yards per carry and scored 234 career points on the football field and
scored over 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds on the hardwood during
basketball season. Wandy attended Kansas University on a football
scholarship before transferring to Hofstra University and becoming an
two sport stand-out for Hofstra. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos in
1969.

Empire Challenge Game
Congratulations to Jovani Duran played in the 24th United Healthcare Empire Challenge Football Game on Friday, June 14th at Hofstra University. This game highlights the best High School football players on Long Island against the best players from New York City and is known as the Boomer Game. Long Island defeated New York City 44-20.
Lacrosse Honors

received their awards at the Nassau County Girls Lacrosse Coaches
Association Dinner at the Crest Hallow County Club.
County Best
Congratulations to Alex Delligatti who participated in the Outstanding
Senior Softball Game this week. She was also named one of the Best

County vs. Suffolk County game.

Athletic Winter Awards
Our winter season had All-Conference and All-County Athletes, as well as
five NYS Scholar Athlete Teams and four conference champions. We placed
first in a cheerleading competition, had a coach of the year in
basketball, athletes that qualified for the NYS championships, and
students who attended the Nationals in track and field. Congratulations
to all on a successful season.
Congratulations to the Varsity Cheerleaders on placing first at the Long
Beach Competition on Saturday, February 9th. The Mules won the battle
at the beach.
Senior Night
Senior Night for the Boys Varsity Basketball Team as these seniors play

Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Soccer Team, which made history in defeating Mineola High School 3 to 2 in overtime in the Nassau County Playoffs. This is the first playoff win for the team in school history.

Strides for Life
The Girls Varsity Volleyball Team is pictured at the annual Strides for Life Walk at Malverne High School. The Volleyball program raisied money for breast cancer research.
Team Leaders
The Captains Club is just a small way for student-athletes in Malverne to explore the different roles, responsibilities and expectations of what it takes to be a team leader. It doesn’t matter if you’re a captain, a bench player or anything in between. Be ready to enhance your leadership skills, because being a part of this is a step towards getting better, not only as an athlete, but as a student.
Girls Varsity Tennis Program had their annual pink match for breast
cancer against Uniondale High School. Malverne defeated Uniondale 6-1.
Raymona Dawkins remained undefeated in singles winning 6-2, 6-1. Asya
and Chyna Cobbs won their doubles match 6-1, 6-2 and Roshni Shulka and
Shimea Bridgewater won their doubles match 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.
Pep in Their Step
Malverne High School Varsity Football and Cheerleading Teams visited Davison Avenue Intermediate School and Downing Primary School for a Homecoming Pep Rally. Homecoming game is this Saturday at 2pm, with the field dedication taking place at halftime.

Exemplary Sportsmanship
Malverne High School was given the 2017 Award of Excellence by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association. The award is presented to schools that have developed proactive approaches in keeping sportsmanship at the forefront for their students, coaches, spectators and communities, as well as to schools that are promoting positive sportsmanship within their athletic department. Malverne instills the NYSPHSAA Code of Conduct with all of its student-athletes.
“It is not surprising that we have earned this honor, as we hold our athletes to the highest standard of sportsmanship,” district athletic director Micheal Pelan said.
Congratulations to each of the Malverne athletes, their coaches and their families who are the true recipients of this award.

Malverne said goodbye to its senior varsity basketball players on Friday
night. We want to wish Chidozie Alozie, Brandon Bannister, Dante
Hilton, Kian Kimanyen and Joshua Rivers the best of luck in the future.
The varsity boys basketball team will play this Sunday at Hofstra
University in the Nassau county playoffs. Good luck to the entire team.

Congratulations to the Boys JV Basketball Team on their Undefeated
Season. The Team went 19-0 and it’s the first time in school history
that a JV Boys Basketball team went Undefeated. Great job by coach
Hammond and the entire team. #gomules
Congratulations to Bryan Castro on being an all-county bowler and
competing this weekend in the county championships. Bryan broke multiply
school records this season and had one of the best seasons in school
history.
On Friday night Malverne said goodbye to its senior varsity
cheerleaders. We wish Corine Gauthier, Tyra Lavell, Hadassa Thevenot and
Brittnee Johnson the best of luck in the future and thank them for all
their all hard work over the past four years. This season the
cheerleading team placed first in the Lynbrook competition. They will be
cheering for the last time in the Nassau county playoffs. #gomules
Girls Varsity Basketball said goodbye to its two seniors on Tuesday
night as they played their final home game of their career. Keyeria
Dawson and Quiara Cyrus will be greatly missed next year. The Girls
Varsity basketball team will have a playoff game on Saturday February
18th at Old Westbury College.
