Community Service Opportunities

• Day Care Centers - minimum age = 18 years
• Libraries - Lakeview, Lynbrook, Malverne - each has a volunteer program
• Volunteer Fire Departments - Lakeview, Lynbrook, Malverne - Junior Firefighters Program
• Mercy Hospital - volunteer program - requires attendance at orientation and application form - see Mrs. H
• Nursing Homes - minimum age = 16 years
• Crossroads Farm - more information to come
• Nassau County Youth Court - application form required - see Mrs. H
• Malverne Pre-K program - Saturdays, MW Downing Primary School - 9-11AM - application form - see Mrs. H
• CERT (Civilian Emergency Response Team) - assist in diasaster relief - minimum age = 18 years

Other Possibilities:

• Volunteer work for family members or neighbors
  (rake leaves, shovel snow, shopping, babysitting)
• Volunteer work in religious organization or community club
  (choir, assisting at services, food bank, etc.)
• Volunteer work in school
  (MHS Library, assist in Main Office, assist teachers)
