Students in Lauren Matthew’s first-grade class at Maurice W. Downing
have really been “shaping” their skills with seasonal activities. In
order to reinforce their knowledge of the lifecycle of a pumpkin,
students completed a pumpkin craft activity. Then, using various sized
pastas, students made diagrams of a skeleton. The activities served to
reinforce their classroom lesson, as well as to serve as festive ways to
celebrate the coming Halloween holiday.
