Malverne has been identified by Newsday as a Top Workplace for 2018. To earn this designation, the district had to be nominated and then undergo a rigorous interview process with feedback coming directly from its teachers and staff members. Qualifying factors included organizations where employees felt their work is appreciated, identifying with the company’s vision and goals, and employees’ confidence in the organization’s leadership.

“We always knew Malverne was a special place to work and it is great for our district to have qualified for this recognition,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. James Hunderfund said. “On behalf of the Board of Education and administration, I thank all of those who participated in this process, and I thank each and every one of you for making Malverne such a special place to work. Without the dedication and commitment of our staff to our students, none of our successes would be possible.”

The district was honored with the award at Newsday’s Celebration Dinner this past weekend.
