On March 15th, teachers from our special education department were invited to sit on the Down Syndrome Advocacy Foundation (DSAF) Discussion Panel. The topic of discussion was how we support our students with Down Syndrome both academically and socially within our schools. Audience members included educators, parents, and administrators from across Long Island. Ms. Ashley Sirabella, Mr. Andrew Biscardi, and Ms. Olivia Czavar proudly shared how each educational plan is unique and how we make sure that every child gets what they need in Malverne. Special education director, Mrs. Meredyth Martini and Davison Avenue Principal, Ms. Rachel Gross were also in attendance. On March 21st, the district will be celebrating World Down Syndrome Day by wearing crazy socks to promote awareness and inclusivity.
