Wild About Nature

To supplement their unit on wildlife, third-grade students at Davison Avenue attended a special presentation from the Wildlife Hospital and Education Center. A volunteer from the organization brought about a dozen creatures, including snakes, turtles and even an opossum, for students to view up close while learning important facts about each one. All of the animals were native to New York state and were not typical creatures for students to encounter so closely. The program was brought to the school thanks to a grant from the Malverne Education and Fitness Foundation.
