The Malverne High School Pride of Malverne Marching Band has been promoted by The New York State Field Band Conference to the top class in its division - Small School 1. As a member of Small School 1, the Pride of Malverne Marching Band will be regarded as one of the elite competitors in New York State, competing directly against nine other marching bands in its new division. The band is a three-time state champion in its prior divisions – Small School 3 in 2006, and Small School 2 in 2010 and 2011.
