HTH Visits Washington, DC

Thirty-five members of Howard T. Herber Middle School’s National Junior Honor Society recently visited Washington, DC. Over the course of their three-day adventure, students visited many historic and political landmarks including the Washington Monument, Ford's Theatre and the World War II, Lincoln, Korean and Vietnam War memorials. On the second day, students toured the Capitol Building and listened to Congressmen speak about gun violence. They toured the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, visited Arlington Cemetery to see Robert E. Lee's house and looked around the MLK, FDR and Jefferson memorials. The final stops before their departure home included the Smithsonian Natural History Museum, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing and the White House. Students were able to not only tour the White House, but for the first time, were also able to take pictures inside the building.
