High school science research students Tosin Yeku and Ashley Akaeze won
an honorable mention at the Long Island Science and Engineering Fair.
The two juniors have been developing a way to increase the efficiency of
microbial fuel cells using biofilms. The project has hopes of providing
the world with a cleaner source of electricity. They plan on continuing
their work on the project and will compete next at the the New York
State Science and Engineering Fair in April.
